Applicant Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for acceptance into the Butte County BiP, applicants must meet the following Minimum Eligibility Requirements, which vary by program.
For General Projects:
- Location
- The physical location of the business must be within Butte County, California.
For Microenterprise Projects:
- Location
- The physical location of the business must be with in the unincorporated area of Butte County, California.
- Size
- Companies must have 5 or fewer employees, including the business owner.
- Personal Income
- Applicants are required to meet the program's personal income criteria and provide proof of income including tax returns for the previous year and estimated income for the current year.
Prioritization Criteria
All applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be competitively evaluated based on the following Prioritization Criteria:
- Management goals
- Acceptance priority will be given to companies whose management team demonstrates a strong commitment to business and employment growth.
- Management track record
- Acceptance priority will be given to companies whose management team demonstrates a track record of success in relevant endeavors.
- Business type
- Acceptance priority will be given to:
- Established companies over business concepts;
- Businesses that are based on secured intellectual property over those that do not involve secured intellectual property; and
- Businesses that involve manufacturing or business-to-business commerce over high-value services.
- Success potential
- Acceptance priority will be given to companies whose business (concept) presents a high probability of success as measured by revenue and employment growth potential.
Program sponsors reserve the unilateral and unconditional right to allow or deny participation in the program. Program sponsors will not be held accountable for their selections or reasoning beyond the prioritization methodology detailed above.
